This is a collection of immersive, ambisonic audio recordings of a Mossberg Maverick 88 12 gauge shotgun. The firearm recordings were captured from the shooter’s perspective, in an outdoor environment in rural, mountain valley terrain. The handling sounds were recorded both indoors and outdoors. Ideal for 1st person shooter game design.

When firing a Mossberg Maverick 88, the first thing you’ll hear is the loud and unmistakable “boom” of the shotgun blast. The 12 gauge round is a large and powerful cartridge, and the sound it produces is both impressive and intimidating. As the shotgun fires, you’ll also hear the distinctive sound of the action cycling, with the spent shell being ejected from the chamber and a new round being loaded. The sound of the action cycling is typically quite loud and sharp, making it easy to hear even in a noisy environment.
