Ambisonic Crashing Waves

This is a collection of immersive, ambisonic wave sounds from Sutro Baths in San Francisco, California.

The sound of waves crashing on a rocky beach is a powerful and exhilarating experience, with the force of the ocean colliding with the rugged terrain of the shoreline. As the waves approach the rocks, they create a low rumbling sound, like a distant thunderstorm, gradually growing louder as they draw closer. As the waves hit the rocks, they explode into a cacophony of sound, with water spraying in all directions and the rocks echoing the impact. The sound of the waves is forceful and intense, with a deep, resonant boom that reverberates through the air. As the water recedes, it drags along the rocks, creating a high-pitched scraping sound as it goes. This sound is mixed with the roar of the next wave, which builds in intensity before crashing onto the rocks once again. The sound of the waves on a rocky beach is constantly evolving, with each wave creating a unique and unpredictable sound. The rhythm of the waves is also irregular, with occasional pauses and sudden surges that keep the listener on edge. Despite the power and intensity of the sound, there is also a certain soothing quality to the waves, with their constant ebb and flow creating a hypnotic rhythm that can be deeply calming.
